I am Kasra Faridi, a classical pianist and composer originally from Tehran, Iran. My journey with the piano started at a young age under the guidance of incredible instructors such as Houman Dehlavi, Tamara Dolitzeh, Arpineh Israelian, and Gagik Babayan. One of my earliest and most cherished memories is performing my first piano solo when I was just six years old.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to participate in various piano soloist festivals, including the Tehran Soloist Festival, Biennial Festival, Schubert International Music Festival, Youth Festival, and Classic to Contemporary Festival. These experiences have shaped my artistic path and deepened my passion for classical music.
In addition to my work as a pianist, I have a Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics, which has profoundly influenced my approach to music. My compositions often combine electroacoustic elements with programming, reflecting the connection between music and mathematics. I had the privilege of studying electronic composition and programming with Joachim Heintz, as well as classical and contemporary composition with Houman Dehlavi and Kiawasch Sahebnassagh. Some of my works have been published internationally in Belgium, Britain, Germany, Chile, and Iran.
Now based in Toronto, I continue to explore and grow as a musician, currently studying with Eve Egoyan. I strive to create a blend of classical and contemporary music that reflects my background and curiosity, and I am always eager to connect with others who share a love for music.
