We are currently working on an exciting project that explores the timeless beauty of Italian Baroque music. This repertoire includes a series of Italian arias for voice and piano, as well as solo Baroque piano pieces composed in the Italian style. I am collaborating with Shaghayegh Bagheri, a talented vocalist with a deep understanding of the Baroque style, who is actively exploring the Belcanto (Old Italian) School, to bring these works to life. The project will feature music by renowned composers such as Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Handel, and Monteverdi, with the goal of honoring and promoting Italian cultural heritage, while showcasing its enduring influence on global music history.
Through this project, we aim to bridge Italy’s rich musical legacy with contemporary audiences, offering both standard interpretations and new perspectives on these beloved works. The project will include performances, recordings, and publications, fostering a deeper cultural connection between Italy and Canada.
Project Goals
To add new perspectives to the established repertoire of Italian Baroque pieces, while maintaining their original spirit.
To perform and record works that offer both traditional and innovative interpretations.
To celebrate and explore the significance of Italian Baroque music in both historical and modern contexts.

Honoring the Masters of Italian Baroque
The heart of this project lies in the timeless works of legendary Italian Baroque composers such as Antonio Caldara, Tommaso Giordani, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Stefano Landi, Francesco Durante, Scarlatti and others who shaped the era’s musical landscape. Through their genius, Italian Baroque music achieved both depth and brilliance, setting standards for expression and artistry that resonate even today. Below, we highlight the composers whose works inspire our performances and recordings.
